Our dietitians understand that each client is an individual, and programs are designed to give that person options for meeting goals that fit into his/her lifestyle. A physician's order is not necessary for a consultation; however, insurance companies require an order before they will consider payment. Classes offered on an ongoing basis include diabetes education for Type 1, Type 2, or gestational diabetes, as well as for metabolic syndrome, a pre-diabetes condition. For more information, contact Certified Diabetes Educator Mary Margaret O'Gara at mmo@avhaspen.org or (970) 544-7394. Computerized nutritional analysis is also available. This includes both a macro and micro analysis, so general nutrition can be evaluated as well as very specific dietary status relative to vitamins, minerals, calories, etc. Following a complete analysis, a client is provided with personalized information about his/her diet with recommendations for improvement. Computerized body composition may also be performed to determine body fat, muscle mass, and fluid content. |
